This is a poem about the excitement and worries of a marriage. Worrying about the life after marriage is very common to everyone. Everyone tries to anticipate how life would be with the significant others. People may ask questions like, "Would I be happy?"

In this poem, the image of a bride laughing contrast to the "empty house" that the peot was afraid of (197). This symbolized the mixed emotion the poet was facing towards the marriage.

Like everyone, the poet was imagining the happy and lonely moments that would be possible after the marriage. This triggerd him to write such a poem.

I agree with the others that this poem is short, no doubt. This is a poem that is about half a page.

The bedroom curtain and empty house clearly illustrated the worries of the poet. All the items in the poem seemed so natural, but they symbolized a significant event of one's life - the marriage.

Obviously the poet felt deep about the marriage, which triggered the writing of the poem.
