Dear Hiring Manager of eBay: I am writing for the Batch Operations Engineer position (Requisition No.: 10959BR). I am graduating on August 18th with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (GPA 3.82), and I can work immediately after August 18th. As a regular Mac user, I am familiar with most UNIX commands and writing shell scripts for batch operations. I have programmed web-based applications with PHP and handled mySQL database with PHP. My upper division Communication Network Design course (EE 122) in UC Berkeley gave me a good understanding of the networking infrastruture. In the class project, we handled TCP/IP socket programming and timing issues for packet transfers. The class allowed me to gain network programming experience and understandings of how a network is connected. I earned an A in my Technical Communication course (E 190), in which we learned to explain technical matters to general audiences verbally and to document technical matters on paper. I believe what I learned from the class would help me communicating and documenting technical matters. Finally, I have been a web designer for 2 years, and I have all the basic knowledge of operating a website. At the moment, I am working for UC Berkeley as a webmaster to maintain one of their course websites. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Yours Sincerely, Bill Hung
