Dear Mr. Clarke,

I am an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science B.S. major student graduating May 2006. I am writing this letter in the hope of a full time position in one of the network solution groups at Marvell.

Marvell is the leader of networking solution, and I believe network chip design is a valuable career. Large storage solution, like hard disk, is doubling the capacity per area every year, and the price keeps falling. Soon enough everyone will have a large media collection, and the next thing people want will be a fast network connection for sharing and connecting between different machines. This is why I wanted to work on network chip related positions.

I earned a full scholarship to be an exchange student in Japan. I used the gigabit Ethernet in Tokyo, Japan, and the speed was so fast that I was impressed. I believe there will be substantial growth of gigabit networks. This is the right time to get into such an exciting industry.

I attended the presentation given by Wireless Network Vice President Lawrence Tse, and I was surprised to see several Japanese companies were listed as technical partners of Marvell. I believe my Japanese ability may be useful as an application engineer. Besides, I am also interested in the position of system level logic design on FPGA. I interfaced with the Ethernet port to obtain music broadcasting from the network using FPGA, and I am currently taking a network programming course in order to learn more about server-side networking skills. I am looking forward to being part of Marvell.

Sincerely,

Bill Hung
