Thursday, 8/17

  • Solution to Final Optional Small Signal Practice Problems is posted. Notice for part f and part g, the gates for M2 and M3 are not connected to the small signal ground.
    Note: The instructor told the class during the Wednesday lecture that he took out a difficult small signal question from the final (but there can still be a small signal question for the final). Also after class on Wednesday, the instructor told the reader that there won't be a "particular" question about PMOS. However, the reader has not seen the final, and the reader is not responsible for your bad grade.

    Final Optional Small Signal Practice Problems
    These are just extra (optional) problems and notes to help you with Small Signal Model if you still have troubles. If you don't have any troubles, then just relax until the final. Notice, the reader does not make questions for the final exam, so please don't consider these notes and problems as final exam hints. The solutions for the practice problems will be posted tomorrow night (Wednesday) Thursday 1am.

    -Covers everything up until slide 15 of lecture 16
    -Allowed 3 cheat sheets
    -No programmable calculators
    -Extended Office Hours on Wednesday from 10am-5pm
  •  Final Review: Wednesday August 16th in Cory 277 from 5-8pm
  •  If the time of the final conflicts with your schedule, please e-mail me and show proof of your conflict and you can take the final on Thursday from 12-3pm.
  • If you did poorly in the previous midterms, please learn from your mistakes and if you can prove to me that you understand the concepts on the final, I'll disregard the midterms. I care that you learn the material.

    HW7 will cover material up until the end of lecture on Friday. This will also be the end of the material covered for the Final.
    You do not have all the information to solve all the extra problems but begin the problems that you can solve as soon as you can and do not leave it to the last minute. If you need help with any of the problems, please come to office hours and discussions.
    There will be discussion tomorrow (Thursday) from 12-2 pm in Cory 293 for people that want help on some problems.

  • HW 2 solution is posted, and you will be able to get back HW 2 next Monday (7/17) before the midterm.

  • HW 1 will be returned to you during lecture and discussion. For a re-grade, write the request on a paper and drop the HW and the request to the HW drop box.

  • HW 3 solution will be posted next Monday (7/17) around 6pm, so don't turn in HW 3 late.

  • Midterm #1 Next Tuesday (7/18) in Dwinelle 145 from 12pm-1:30pm
       You are allowed on 8 1/2 by 11 cheat sheet (front and back) but must be hand written
       You are not permitted the use of a graphing calculator

  • First lab slot is cancelled next week (Week 4). Only attend your second lab slot. For those of you that have your second lab slot on Tuesday (7/18), the prelab is not due at the beginning of the lab but at the end.

    12-2 to help the people who miss out on section Tuesday for July 4.
